Guest Post from Kristi of The Story Siren

I have the pleasure of hosting a guest post from the amazing Kristi. She is a blogging idol and is a totally awesome person. I rarely talk to people that have such a great hear and spirit. Anyways, I will let her talk, because she has a list and I like lists...
I’m so excited to be guesting at Sarah’s blog today for her awesometastic birthday bash! I can’t believe you are 19! That makes me feel incredibly old. I absolutely love celebrating birthdays. I still get excited for my birthday every year, even though I 'should' have grown out of it years ago. But birthdays are special days, and I hope, Sarah, that yours is more special than most.
I wish I had a birthday story to tell that would be semi-entertaining, but sadly most of my birthdays were rather big duds. Except for maybe my 21st birthday, but this isn’t really the time or place to talk about that one. It’s also a little embarrassing, so we’ll just forget I even mentioned that.... okay moving on....
Sarah’s birthday! Exciting stuff! You know, Sarah is a truly an awesome person. Not only does she have the superhero power of speed-reading (I am not even kidding, have you ever seen how many books this girl reads, like three a day, I kid you not!) but she has one of the most optimistic and passionate attitudes! When she has more reason that most people to complain about life in general. It’s contagious..... SHE’s contagious . I cannot help but laugh and smile when I talk to this girl.
So Sarah, for your 19th birthday I wish for you:
1. More books that you can ever read.
2. A long fulfilling life of happiness and love.
3. An unlimited supply of Doctor Who episodes.
4. An invitation of admission from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry.
5. An iPod full of all your favorite songs
6. A get out of ‘writer’s block’ free card. (reusable!)
7. For all your dreams to come true
Blow out the candles and make a wish!
Thanks so much for being you. The world is a much better place with you in it! I hope you have a wonderful birthday. I wish I could be there with you to celebrate it!

BEDA... Day 17.

So, I am running out of ideas on what to post about... so this will be just random rambling.
First off, Happy Birthday to Kristi of The Story Siren fame and also to my IRL friend Rebecca! Have a fun day.
Second off, New Harry Potter Trailer is pimp. Spoil alert to those that haven't seen it. I love Ginny and Harry in the trailer cute... and I really am excited for it. It got moved up two days on the release, yay!
Third, I saw Rachel Getting Married and Seven Pounds. Rachel getting Married wasn't as good as I though it would be, but Anne Hathaway was awesome in it. Seven Pounds was really good. Will Smith was awesome. My mom also bought Marley and Me, I am excited to watch it. It looks so cute.
Fourth, Happy Day of Silence, watch this Video.
I hope everyone has had a great week.
Take Care Sarah.

In my Mailbox (Week 5)

This is a In My Mailbox, started by The Story Siren Check it out here.
In the Mail:
Twenty Boy Summer by Sarah Oakler
According to her best friend Frankie, twenty days in Zanzibar Bay is the perfect opportunity to have a summer fling, and if they meet one boy ever day, there's a pretty good chance Anna will find her first summer romance. Anna lightheartedly agrees to the game, but there's something she hasn't told Frankie---she's already had that kind of romance, and it was with Frankie's older brother, Matt, just before his tragic death one year ago. Beautifully written and emotionally honest, this is a debut novel that explores what it truly means to love someone and what it means to grieve, and ultimately, how to make the most of every single moment this world has to offer.
I am so happy to get this. I have already read it and Wow is all I can say for now. I love the Sea glass on the Boardwalk very cute.
Sleepaway Girls by Jen Calonita
When Sam's best friend gets her first boyfriend, she's not ready to spend the summer listening to the two of them call each other "pookie." Sick of being a third wheel, Sam applies to be a counselor-in-training at Whispering Pines camp in the New York Catskills. But what she doesn't realize is that it's not going to be all Kumbaya sing-alongs and gooey s'mores. If Ashley, the alpha queen of Whispering Pines, doesn't ruin Sam's summer, then her raging crush on the surfer-blond and flirtatious Hunter just might. At least she has playful Cole, who's always teasing her, but is oh-so-comfortable to hang out with, and the singular gang of girls that become fast friends with Sam-they call themselves the Sleepaway Girls.
This book looks really cute and I can't wait to read it. The cover is so cute. I also really like Secrets of my Hollywood Life Series and I am excited to read this.

Hottie by Johnathan Bernstien
Alison Cole’s got it all: She’s gorgeous, dating a steamy surfer boy, and has just been crowned Beverly Hills High Freshman Class President. Then during a special “symmetry” surgery, a lightning bolt zaps her, and Alison instantly transforms into Hottie—that is, a totally sizzling superhero with the power to shoot fire from her fingers!
Shunned as a Pyro-Freak, Alison must adopt dorky David Eels as her crime-fi ghting sidekick. Worse, she’s falling for the one guy who wants to “extinguish” her forever, Junior Class President of Cuteness— and wannabe fi refi ghter—T. Hull. But she doesn’t realize that a supervillain’s lurking. Has Hottie met her match?

This sounds like a pretty cute book. I am not a fan of the cover, but what can you do... the words count more anyways.

Swoon by Nina Malkin
Sin is Coming...Prepare to Swoon!
Torn from her native New York City and dumped in the land of cookie-cutter preps, Candice is resigned to accept her posh, dull fate. Nothing ever happens in Swoon, Connecticut...until Dice's perfect, privileged cousin Penelope nearly dies in a fall from an old tree, and her spirit intertwines with that of a ghost. His name? Sinclair Youngblood Powers. His mission? Revenge. And while Pen is oblivious to the possession, Dice is all too aware of Sin. She's intensely drawn to him—but not at all crazy about the havoc he's wreaking. Determined to exorcise the demon, Dice accidentally sets Sin loose, gives him flesh, makes him formidable. Now she must destroy an even more potent—and irresistible—adversary, before the whole town succumbs to Sin's will. Only trouble is, she's in love with him.

This book sound amazing. I can't wait to read it. The cover is so pretty.
I also got Project Paris from Zoe and Impluse by Ellen Hopkins from S&S for Readergirlz Street Team. I got Bloom and Going Too Far back from Ashley and Kristi.

The Bought:
Same Diffence by Siobhan Vivian
Emily is ready for a change. She's been in the same town with the same friends for a long time...and none of them really understand her art. But when she goes to Philadelphia for a summer art institute, she suddenly finds like-minded people. One in particular, Fiona, intrigues and challenges her. But there are some things Emily is going to have to find out for herself -- like what the balance is between life and art, and which is more important when push comes to shove.
I love A Little Friendly Advice, that came out last year. So, I had to buy this one. I also heard how amazing it was. I also really loved the cover.

Zombie Queen of Newbury High by Amanda Ashby
Quiet, unpopular, non-cheerleading Mia is blissfully happy. She is dating super hot football god Rob, and he actually likes her and asked her to prom! Enter Samantha—cheerleading goddess and miss popularity— who starts making a move for Rob. With prom in a few days, Mia needs to act fast. So she turns to her best friend, Candice, and decides to do a love spell on Rob. Unfortunately, she ends up inflicting a zombie virus onto her whole class, making herself their leader! At first she is flattered that everyone is treating her like a queen. But then zombie hunter hottie Chase explains they are actually fattening her up, because in a few days, Mia will be the first course in their new diet. She’s sure she and Chase can figure something out, but she suggests that no one wear white to prom, because things could get very messy.
Amanda is really sweet and has an awesome blog. I also heard that it was really good. I am excited to read this.

The Season by Sarah Maclean
Seventeen year old Lady Alexandra is strong-willed and sharp-tongued -- in a house full of older brothers and their friends, she had to learn to hold her own. Not the best makings for an aristocratic lady in Regency London. Yet her mother still dreams of marrying Alex off to someone safe, respectable, and wealthy. But between ball gown fittings, dances, and dinner parties, Alex, along with her two best friends, Ella and Vivi, manages to get herself into what may be her biggest scrape yet.
When the Earl of Blackmoor is mysteriously killed, Alex decides to help his son, the brooding and devilishly handsome Gavin, uncover the truth. But will Alex's heart be stolen in the process? In an adventure brimming with espionage, murder, and other clandestine affairs, who could possibly have time to worry about finding a husband? Romance abounds as this year's season begins!

This book sounds amazing and all the reviews so far, say that it is. I love Historical fiction and pretty covers.
I am so excited to read them all.
Take Care, Sarah

I have a mailbox?

This is a In My Mailbox, started by The Story Siren Check it out here.

These books, I got from Amazon from family members that just give me a gift card, because they have no clue what to get me. I had already read Story of a Girl and Life as We Knew it. I just read Far From You and Unraveling, both were amazing books. The rest are books that I heard were good and wanted to read them. I also got the movies, Atonement and Juno.

I won Lord of Misrule from Chelsie
Adios to All The Drama, I won from Diana
I was sent Going too Far for review.

So, this doesn't count the 10+ library books, I checked out.
I rarely get books in the mail,so it is kind of overwhelming in I-Have-No-Clue-What-To-Read-Next feeling. So What did you guys get in your mailbox or buy this week?
Peace Out, Sarah.

Bookshelf Meme

I got tagged by Zoe (Go Subscride to her, she is amazing. )

1. Tag 3-5 people, so the fun keeps going!2. Leave a comment at the original Post at A Striped Armchair, so that Eva can collect everyone’s answers.
3. If you leave a comment and link back to Eva as the meme’s creator, she will enter you in a book giveaway contest! She has a whole shelf devoted to giveaway books that you’ll be able to choose from, or a bookmooch point if you prefer.
4. Remember that this is all about enjoying books as physical objects, so feel free to describe the exact book you’re talking about, down to that warping from being dropped in the bath water…

1. the book that’s been on your shelves the longest:

Charlotte's Web or Bride to Terabithia. I don't really have any picture books on my shelf, because those have given away. I love those two books.

2. A book that reminds you of something specific in your life (a person, a place, a time, etc.):

My bible, I got it when I turned 10 and I was so happy to get it. Looking for Alaska, it was one of the books that got me back in to reading when I was really sick. The 1st time, it took me three days, but I was on codeine and I sleep a lot on that medicine.

3. a book you acquired in some interesting way (gift, serendipity in a used bookstore, prize, etc.):
Every time, I have surgery. My mom give me a book or two. I got City of Ashes, Thriteen Reason Why, Let's get Lost, The Host, Bloom, Revelations, and a few other books.
I also found a copy of Octavian The Nothing Vol. II in like May of the last year. I still have yet to read it.

4. the most recent addition to your shelves:
I just bought The Elite on firday, because I got In Too Deep in the mail. They are on my to read next list.

5. a book that’s been with you to the most places:
Harry Potter, I have read these books so many times. I can't explain how amazing they are. Just read them and trust me.

6. a bonus book that you want to talk about but doesn’t fit into the other questions:
Twilight, does anyone else love yet hate this book? Discuss in the comments.

Fan girl moment...

I have only been blogging consistently for about a month. So yesterday, I was going on my blog and just seeing what is up and I see that I have a new follower (This makes me think of a cult and kool-aid.). It turned out to be The Story Siren. She is one of the first book blogs that I read. My first was Miss Erin or Little Willow. So, I had a little fan girl moment. I had it when I got a comment from Erin, too. I love the people you meet through blogging and books. Thanks, Kristi, Sarah, and Zoe, for following me.

Oh, I bought some books today. I got Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson, Wake by Lisa McMann, and The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I have read the first two. I am so excited to read The Hunger Games, soon. I also found out that my local book store is now 20% off of all Hardcover Young Adult books. That is around the price of buying a book at Amazon.

I also got to see some friends that I haven't seen in weeks and it just amazing. I love youth group. So, I am in a great mood. =)
Peace out, Sarah.
