Waiting on Wednesday (117)
Author: Sarah Dessen
Publisher: Viking Juvenile
Release Date: June 4, 2013
Luke is the perfect boyfriend: handsome, kind, fun. He and Emaline have been together all through high school in Colby, the beach town where they both grew up. But now, in the summer before college, Emaline wonders if perfect is good enough.
Enter Theo, a super-ambitious outsider, a New Yorker assisting on a documentary film about a reclusive local artist. Theo's sophisticated, exciting, and, best of all, he thinks Emaline is much too smart for Colby.
Emaline's mostly-absentee father, too, thinks Emaline should have a bigger life, and he's convinced that an Ivy League education is the only route to realizing her potential. Emaline is attracted to the bright future that Theo and her father promise. But she also clings to the deep roots of her loving mother, stepfather, and sisters. Can she ignore the pull of the happily familiar world of Colby?
Emaline wants the moon and more, but how can she balance where she comes from with where she's going?
Sarah Dessen's devoted fans will welcome this story of romance, yearning, and, finally, empowerment. It could only happen in the summer.
I am really excited for The Moon and More. Sarah Dessen is one of my favorite writers and I can't wait to see what she does next.

What Happened to Goodbye by Sarah Dessen
Source: Publisher
In the past two years, Mclean Sweet has moved four times. At each stop, she assumes a new persona, but it never quite works. Whether she's an effervescent cheerleader or an intense drama queen, nothing can permanently dispel the turmoil and rage at her mother since her parents' divorce. Sarah Dessen's novel about a teenager and her restaurant manager father captures the vulnerability that young people often experience after the dissolution of their family. A compelling story; strong characterization; and with a touch of romance.Sarah Dessen writes amazing contemporary novels with awesome characters and an enjoyable plot. What Happen to Goodbye was just as amazing of her previous books and is my second favorite of her books. Mclean isn't sure exactly who she is and she has no clue what her place is in the world. Seriously who hasn't felt this way before? The truth is that everyone has at one time or another. Mclean also hasn't gotten close to anyone, since her parent's divorce, which is really sad. Dave was such a sweet guy and I seriously loved him. I liked that he had the boy next door feel and how sweet he was. The other cast in What Happened to Goodbye were cute and interesting and I couldn't help loving them. Dessen's writing style is remarkable. I know that her books will always cheer me up and captivate me into wanting to read more. This is definitely one of her best novels. I definitely recommend this book to fans of Sarah Dessen's previous novels and fans of contemporary fiction.

Quote Love (1)
Quote Love is a new meme created by Midnight Twilight's Book Blog. It's kind of like Teaser Tuesday from Should Be Reading, but with this one you can choose any quote from any book, not just the one you're currently reading. The quote can be thought provoking, or funny, or just really powerful, it's all up to you which kind of quote you choose.
This Quote is from The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen:
This Quote is from The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen:"That was the thing. You never got used to it, the idea of someone being gone. Just when you think it's reconciled, accepted, someone points it out to you, and it just hits you all over again, that shocking."
This is my favorite Sarah Dessen Quote. This makes me think of when I lost my sister and how dark my live felt and even though it has been seventeen years, I miss her everyday. I think that this quote captures grief and lost so well, which is why Sarah Dessen is such a stunning writer.

My Most Read Author
Several bloggers have done this, so I decided to join in with my five most read author.
1. Meg Cabot
There is a reason that Meg Cabot is well know. She writes a lot of book and fairly quick. They are really cute and fun read. I have somehow read 26 of her books and that is not near the amount she has written. My favorite of her books it the Mediator Series. Ghost are pretty epic.
2. Roald Dahl
I loved Dahl growing up. I devoured his books like crazy. I have read 16 of his books. My favorite it The Witches. I have no clue how many times I have read it. Such an amazing book.
3. Scott Westerfeld, Cate Tiernan, and Lemony Snicket
I have read 15 books of each author.
Scott Westerfeld is epic. I haven't hated any of his books. Though Peeps has made me never want a cat ever. My favorite series is the Midnighter series. It is so epic.
Cate Tiernan wrote the Sweep series, which I love. I gobbled up that whole series in a week. I am so glad that my library had them all.
I love Lemony Snicket. His books make me laugh, cry, and totally get invested in the story. A Series of Unfortunate Events are my favorite books by him.
4. Kate Brian, Holly Black, and Melody Carlson
I have read 13 books of each.
Kate Brian's books are so engaging and suck me into the story. So addicting and I love the Private Series.
Holly Black is epic. So, of course I love her. Ironside is my favorite of her books.
My brother is a future pastor and he buys me Melody Carlson books, because I find them interesting. They are also quick reads. My favorite is Who I Am...
5. Sarah Dessen and Elizabeth Scott
I have read 10 of their books.
I adore Sarah's style, which makes it a perfect read. Plus the characters are so easy to relate to and I adore the boys. The Truth about Forever is my favorite, closely followed by What Happened to Goodbye and Just Listen.
I swear Elizabeth Scott is the future Meg Cabot. She writes such amazing books, so quickly. I have loved all of books, even the one by her paranormal pseudonym. My favorite book by her is Between Here and Forever.

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
Characters: 19/20
Plot: 18/20
Originality: 19/20
Writing: 20/20
Recommendation: 19/20
Overall: 95/100 or A
Auden hasn't slept at night in a long time. Ever since her parents started fighting and so did the divorce. Auden has the chance to spend a carefree summer on the beach in Colby, before she goes off to Defriese University... with her dad and his new family, his wife Heidi and his new baby Thisbe.
Auden decides to help Heidi with the books at her clothes shop, Clementines. Auden finds friendship with a group of girls. She also finds a crush with Eli, a loner and fellow insomniac. Eli becomes a guide to the nocturnal world of Colby. Auden is finding her way throughout her childhood, she missed and Eli comes to terms with the guilt that he felt for a friend's death.
I love Sarah Dessen. I have read all of her books at least once, many I have revisited multiple times. Along for the Ride is not an exceptions.
One of the best thing about her novels are the lively characters. Auden is looking for the approval of her parents and has missed out on her childhood, because of this. I could totally relate to this. I didn't learn how to ride a bike until I was thirteen. I think that a lot of teenager girl can relate to this. Eli was so sweet and dreamy. I wanted to learn more about him. The plot is amazing. It had a ton of originality. Dessen is a wonderful writer. I love how she has cameos of previous characters. I recommend this book to anyone. I love this book.

Cover Art Saturday: Sarah Dessen's Along for the Ride

So, the cover of the new Sarah Dessen's Along for the Ride was released recently, and like any teenage girl that reads... I am very excited for it. The cover is gorgeous like her other covers, and of course there will be some romance in the book. I love the fact that she is on the handlebars in a dress. The fact that the dress has polka dot is awesome. I also like the clear chemistry between them in their pose. I though that there might be a car on the cover(When I heard the title), but a bike is much more fitting. Also the water behind them, is gorgeous. I am so excited for June 2009.
I am going to try and post a cover every Saturday and explain why I love it. I love book covers.
In other news, I will be on antibiotics for 6th month. My IgG is from 754 to 420 in one month. My white blood cell count is up. So are my inflammation markers. That is all really bad. Good new is I don't have to get a biopsy yet.
I also chopped off my hair this week. It is somewhat even. I have bangs again. It is cute.
Peace out, Sarah.
