I have a kidney infection and I was wondering if anyone had any advice on diet or lowering the pain. I can't have the usual medicine, because it counter acts one of mine. Please do not mention Cranberry Juice, because I have drank two containers of it. Anyone that has any advice, I will be so thankful.
Anyways, I am going to try to get the Lisa Mantchev event posted later today. It depends on how I feel and such. Also any bloggers/authors in the Seattle area, leave a comment. I am planning something sekrit.
Thanks for your time and sorry for this mini-rant.
Peace Out, Sarah.
I hope you feel better! Sorry I don't have any advice.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to finding out this sekrit thing you have planned.
I'm here! (or close... you know what I mean!)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to think of anything that might work... but I hope you feel better SOON. (Maybe the cranberry extract tablets? Then you wouldn't have to drink the juice.)
Aww feel better!
ReplyDeleteI don't have any advice for you besides the c-juice :(
I'm sure you don't want to hear the word "cranberry" ever again!
Awww, I hope you feel better, Sarah!!! And I'm local *waves hand in the air*
ReplyDeleteI can't help you get through this one but I know a few things to help prevent the next one.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter had tons of urinary tract infections when she was younger - turned out she had a birth defect that made her susceptible to them and had to have surgery to correct the problem.
Anyway -- UTIs can be caused when urine stays in the bladder too long. It sits around and gets all germy. (Eww, I know. But wait, my advice gets even grody-er.) The first thing you need to do is make sure you are going to the bathroom often. DON'T put it off because you're busy or whatever, just go. Also, sometimes even if you do go often, the urine might not get all the way out. (This is the really gross *but helpful* part.) Go to the bathroom before you get in the shower, then, while you are in the shower - try to go again. I know it sounds nasty but standing up can help you empty your bladder more completely, and hey, you're in the shower -- just wash yourself off after. Finally, the only actually cool advice I can give you is... go shopping! There's a theory that microbes can hang out on your underwear for a long time, even through regular washing. Tell your mom you NEED to buy all new underwear. Then go out and get some cute new undies, but make sure they have that plain white cotton panel in them.
Sorry if I've grossed you out and hope this helps!
