Harry Potter has been such a huge part of my childhood and my life, I'll be so sad when it really ends; when it's all over with. Just thinking about it now upsets me. But I'm happy that I was able to experience the series, that I was able to grow up with Harry, Ron, and Hermione. It means so much to me now, looking back on how special it was then and how special it will always be.Nikki (Wicked Awesome Books)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10379785087255968519noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447087409192801997.post-15614146258003238222011-05-30T17:02:35.429-07:002011-05-30T17:02:35.429-07:00First of all, that is a bloody amazing video! Thank you so much for sharing it.

Second, we totally understand how you feel. 2 of us grew up with Harry Potter, and 2 of us are sharing it now with our kids. It's such a wonderful series, and it blew the door open for children's books. It's always sad to see something like that end... but just because nothing new is coming doesn't mean it won't still be new for hundreds of children (and adults!) every day. :)We Heart YAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02418854853031344928noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447087409192801997.post-3323294769419936352011-05-30T13:21:03.863-07:002011-05-30T13:21:03.863-07:00I definitely do not have a favourite part of Harry...I definitely do not have a favourite part of Harry Potter, there are too many!!!
Have you heard about the brilliant Dear Mr Potter project? if not you should definitely check it out - www.dearmrpotter.org :)Raimy from Readaraptor Hatchlinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08060834482678440435noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-447087409192801997.post-79379321678060015932011-05-30T09:02:30.144-07:002011-05-30T09:02:30.144-07:00Favorite part of Harry Potter? You say that like it's possible to have just one favorite part.

I glommed onto the books in the summer of 1999, not long before Prisoner of Azkaban arrived, and was one of the first adults I knew to have read them. As I told everyone at that time, "these are my favorite books from when I was 12" - even though I was 35 at the time. (My actual fave books from when I was twelve were the LOTR books *grins*)

Still, I have particular fondness for this Dumbledore quote (which serves well as a metaphor for us writers, no?): "Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?"Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
